On November 8, 2016, Michael Tubbs was elected to serve as the mayor of the City of Stockton, California. Upon taking office in January 2017, elected at the age of 26, Michael Tubbs became both the nation’s youngest mayor, for a city of over 100,000 people and Stockton’s first African-American mayor. Recognized as one of Politico’s Top 50Fortune’s Top “40 under 40,” and Forbes’ list of the “30 Under 30,” Tubbs’ leadership paired with an ambitious progressive agenda has received national recognition. He’s championed issues and ground breaking initiatives like: universal basic income, creation of the the Office of Violence Prevention, and the Reinvent Stockton campaign.


Rep. Jeramey Anderson, Mississippi House of Rep.


Jeramey Anderson is a Democratic member of the Mississippi House of Representatives, for District 110. He was first elected to the chamber in a special election on November 5, 2013. When Anderson won his seat in the Mississippi House of Representatives in November 2013 at age 21, he became the youngest elected leader to the Mississippi Legislature and the youngest African American elected to a legislature in the United States history.

Angie has turned her passion and love for the community into a 10 yr career as a community organizer. Over the years, she has created place-making events that provided access to healthy food options in food deserts, brought in educational opportunities and training opportunities for small business owners, and created family friendly environments that focused on the overall health and well being of residents. Including: Kidpreneur Fest, an annual event that showcases kid entrepreneurs and allows them to pitch their businesses. co-founder of The Melanin Market. The Melanin Market is in its fourth year of operation and services the community by providing small business owners with resources to grow their businesses, providing healthy food options in a food deserts.
